About Us

Barretts Event Caterers Limited was established in February 2002, offering an event catering facility for corporate and private functions. "We specialise in outside catering for all events, from weddings to directors lunches; drinks receptions to product launches, at your chosen venue whether a marquee, office, stately home or your own home. Our food is designed on classical dishes with a modern influence. Our main aim is to provide high quality event catering with a more personal service whether it's for 10 or 1500 guests.

Matthew Barrett, our Managing Director, began his career in Harrogate at the International Hotel after a distinguished education at Folkstone Catering College, followed by influential periods at the Royal Bath Hotel, Bournemouth and Dukes Hotel, London where he cooked a private dinner for HRH the Queen.

He then made the move to the North West where he was head chef at the renowned Stanneylands Hotel, Wilmslow, Cheshire (in which time he received a Certificate of Merit at the prestigious Salon Culinaire, a Silver Medal at London's Hotel Olympia and joint 1st place for "Cuisine Moderne") and Mere Golf and County Club, Cheshire. More recently and for five years, he was chef director at a Large Catering Company in Manchester, catering for corporate, charity events and social functions throughout the Manchester and Cheshire area. Our most prestigious clients have been HRH Prince Charles on his birthday, the Duke of Edinburgh and Richard Branson.
